What we keep, and why.

The list
When you join the list we keep your email address and which list you joined, people who go out or businesses. That is the whole record. We use it to send one email when Hot Tip opens in San Diego, and for businesses, one email when claiming opens. We do not sell it, share it, or add it to anything else.
This site
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no banner. Fonts load from Fontshare and Google Fonts, and those services see the request like any other web font request.
The app
The app works without an account. When you check in, your phone shares its location once so we can confirm you are within about a block of the place. We keep the check-in, not the coordinates. Signing in uses your email and a link, with no password. The neighborhood board shows the name you choose to give, or nothing.
Listings
Places on the map come from OpenStreetMap, which is public and openly licensed, filtered and checked by hand. If your business is listed and you would rather it wasn't, write to us and it comes off. No argument.
Removal
Reply to any email we send, or write to hello@hottip.club, and we delete your address and anything tied to it. Same for a check-in history or a listing.
